This small fuel container is usually mistaken for an oil can on the Schwimmwgen, the container in this instance is actually used for fuel. A quick squirt of neat fuel could be added to the air inlet pipe immediately above the Carburetor to aid starting. The long pointed nozzle can be removed and screwed inside the container itself to make the unit more compact.

For ease of accessibility the fuel container is located on the left hand side of the vehicle and near the drivers footwell. A neat holder is provided with a spring clip to the rear which keeps the container in place.
